The weather was beautiful and there were some firsts in the pattern – like a medical helicopter and a gyro copter. It was great to be back in the air!
As I prepare for my checkride, I thought I would go out to the practice area a refresh on the flight maneuvers in the PTS.
As I parked a lineman walked up to the plane and said “I haven’t seen one of these in years! A classic!”
After lining up on final my CFI said “this looks good, just land.” I thought there might be pine needles in the wheel pants when landed!
The wind up at Paulding is always a little tricky. It might not have been as pretty as the previous landing, but it felt good.
Tom said it was a great landing, but more importantly I got a “good job daddy” from the back seat.
My long solo cross country flight is complete. Wow, what a day it was! These flights have gone a long way towards making me feel like a pilot.
I recently made another solo practice flight to knock the rust off and familiarize myself with the avionics upgrades.
This footage seemed to captivate me for some reason. It was fascinating comparing the various takeoffs and shadows as the sun dropped lower towards the horizon.
