A few days after my most recent dual lesson, I got back out to work on nailing my approach and landing consistency. As luck would have it, the wind was up. I decided to fly anyway, and got to work on crosswind landings. It’s been a while since I’ve practice crosswind takeoff and landings – and it shows. Fortunately (and unfortunately, as the case may be) most of my lessons and solo flights have been during very good weather, with mostly calm winds. This makes for easier practice, but hinders my proficiency overall as a pilot, since I’m not having to compensate for the wind as much.
In this video, I’ve included my crosswind approaches and landings along with the following touch and go’s in all their ugliness. Time to get out in the wind and practice some more!
